Este estudio explora cómo un grupo de mujeres con discapacidad (n=6) experimentan y perciben la práctica de actividad física en un gimnasio adaptado. Se utilizaron entrevistas semi-estructuradas como instrumento de recogida de datos cualitativos y se realizó un análisis temático inductivo. Los resultados se agruparon en torno a cuatro categorías temáticas emergentes: condición física y autonomía personal; papel paliativo del ejercicio; bienestar psicológico; relación social y apoyo. Concerning mistreatment of older people: clinical and ethical thoughts based on a study of known cases.

International audience; Following a report by the Health Ministry recommending a greater implication of general practitioners (GP) in the diagnosis and care of mistreated older people, we wanted to evaluate what was actually their role in this matter. A study was made of files of mistreated older persons referred to the social services in a Parisian suburb. For each file, we noted who raised the first suspicions of mistreatment, who diagnosed it, what happened next, and what precisely the GP's role was. More Choice for Better Choosers: Political Freedom, Autonomy, and Happiness

A substantial literature finds that freedom in the sense of an expanded opportunity set is positively related to happiness. A contrasting literature, however, finds that an excess of choice can have socially undesirable outcomes. We test the effect of two types of freedom—autonomy and political—on happiness using five waves of World Values Survey data (1981–2008). We find evidence supporting the claim that equipping people with the tools to direct the course of their lives (i.e. increasing autonomy freedom) incentivizes the desire to investigate alternatives (e.g. political parties) before making a decision.
